I Am Everyone’s Cheeseball

This is a light hearted silly post about my genuine love for cheesy movies and shows. I always tell people I am everyone’s cheese ball of a friend. I love a simple, romantic, straight forward, light hearted, shows. I cannot handle anything violent, intense, scary, or suspenseful.

PBS Shows

For starters Downton Abbey might be my all time favorite. I was late in the game to watch this show and got to see it uninterrupted on the PBS app through Amazon. The sights, the dresses, the luxury, and the drama had me eager to watch each episode with “bated breath” as one of my friends says. Then as a sweet birthday surprise several years ago, Sarah and I went to see the first movie in theaters together for my birthday. Every minute was lovely and I can only dream of what a life would be like for someone to dress you every morning and to change clothes for dinner, oh and not to cook 😉

The next show I love is called All Creatures Great and Small. Another PBS special. This show will melt your heart. Honest work from a pair of veterinarians, good British humor, sweet romances, and witty lines throughout. My grandmother has talked about these books forever. I, however, have never read the books yet, but do love this show.

Sanditon is another show that I am finishing, 2 more episodes to go. This show is about the unfinished book by Jane Austen. As you can imagine, I love a good Mr. Darcy story in general. Sanditon is captivating by the twisted love stories and the heart and smarts of one good woman throughout. She is tormented with love, but I am hopeful she ends up with the right one. The setting is in a new up and coming town on the coast of Europe with London being the closest town. Again there are beautiful dresses, fine dining, elegant parties with themed dances, etc.

Hallmark

I think you can gather my cheese ball theme here. The last mention will be any classic Hallmark movie on the scene. I know many of you, including Sarah, cannot stand them, but I on the other hand love them. The predictability, the plot, the twist, the argument, the resolve, and then the kiss at end is all like a balm to my soul. Now a days, I think they let them kiss twice, haha. I have favorites from years past that I will rewatch. There have been some great new ones as well. My emotional soul of a child loved watching them with me last year. It was too cute.

Other favorite movies off the top of my head are “While You Were Sleeping,” “You’ve Got Mail,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” “Cinderella,” “Miss Congeniality,” and “The Proposal.”

Happy TV show/movie watching. If you ever need a cheese ball friend to watch a movie with let me know. Send me all your recommendations.

XO,

Kimberly
